A 24-hour toll-free telephone number
is available so that issues can be addressed on a more urgent level. The toll-free telephone number for the Iowa Pharmacy Recovery Network is 1-877-890-IPRN (4776). The number is staffed from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.During other times, a confidential voice mail system will take a message from the caller. The phone call will be returned as soon as possible during business hours and the impairment issue will be addressed immediately following the return phone call. The need for a 24 hour phone number will be assessed over the next year, and will be readdressed by the IPRN Committee.

Peer support groups were created throughout the state exclusively for pharmacy professionals in recovery to discuss issues dealing with their recovery in the pharmacy profession. Support groups meet the second Friday of every month from 8:00 - 9:00 p.m. The meetings are currently being held in two places in Iowa:
- McAully Room, Genesis West Campus in Davenport
- Lutheran Hospital, Room 407 in Des Moines
The location of these meetings may be expanded in the future based on determined need throughout the state. If you are interested in starting a support group in your area, please contact us and we will assist you in getting started. The meetings are intended to bring pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacies students together to discuss their recovery and provide emotional support to one another. The meetings are not intended to replace other aftercare programs, such as AA, which may be provided as a requirement of the recovery process. They are also not intended to be the "home group" which may be required more frequently than monthly. The meetings may be a requirement of a contract with IPRN, or may simply be encouraged. Each contract is individual.
Participants in the support group meetings could include:
- Pharmacists, pharmacy technicians or pharmacy students in recovery
- Pharmacy professionals who have been disciplined by the Board of Pharmacy
- Pharmacy professionals who are involved in the IPRN program
- Pharmacy professionals in recovery for a period of time who are not involved with IPRN currently or in the past
- Pharmacy professionals just starting their recovery
- Pharmacy professionals who think they may have an impairment
